VettedCounter is a product-recommendation site for shoppers in the United States. We cover a small number of categories deliberately, because a recommendation is only as good as the research behind it. Every guide is built the same way: measurable specs first, long-term owner feedback second, marketing claims last — and usually discarded.

Our methodology

We start by mapping the full spec sheet of every credible product in a category — not just the ones with affiliate programs. We normalize the specifications so they can be compared side by side, then we read verified owner reviews in volume, looking specifically for failure patterns that appear in year two and beyond: hinges that crack, seals that fail, support requests that go unanswered.

What we publish is the data itself. Every review shows the product's specifications, its real strengths and weaknesses drawn from owner feedback, and — just as important — who the product is wrong for. If we can't tell you who shouldn't buy something, we don't understand it well enough to recommend it.

We update guides when products are revised, discontinued, or displaced by better options, and every page shows its last-updated date.

How we make money

When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. This never changes what we recommend: products are chosen before we look at commission rates, and we routinely recommend products that earn us nothing. You can read the details in our affiliate disclosure.
